Dear Executive Directors/ CEOs/Founders of Nonprofit Organizations,
Peel Leadership Centre (PLC) is excited to host a workshop specifically designed for you. As a long-time nonprofit Executive Director, CEO and/or Founder, have you been thinking;
“Who could step into my shoes without disrupting the organization once I transition from my current role?”
“What comes after Executive Directorship?”
“When is a good transition time for me and my organization?”
“Where do I go from here?”
“Why is it so difficult to identify a career path beyond Executive Directorship?”
“How do I even start a constructive conversation about my future and with whom?”
This Peel Leadership Centre (PLC) half-day workshop on Wednesday, November 28th, is designed specifically for experienced nonprofit Executive Directors, Founders and CEOs like you, wanting to start exploring the transition process and its implications for both, you and your organization.
Life After Executive Directorship will introduce you to conversations on how best to design a successful transition and see your organization thrive after working as a long time Executive Director, Founder or CEO. It may feel impossible, but others have done it! There is a common thread between those who have gone through this experience, and this workshop, facilitated by Michael Prosserman, founder and former Executive Director at Unity Charity, will help seasoned EDs/CEOs connect with one other and explore different possibilities.
About the Workshop
This one-of-a kind workshop experience is designed to empower long time leaders to feel a sense of control in planning a successful future for themselves and their organizations. You will learn best practices, reflect, and hear from peers who have made a similar leap successfully. You will also have the opportunity to hear from others who are working in the field of executive transitions and can help you see a future beyond your current role. Even if you’re not planning to leave your organization now, this workshop is made for all long-time Executive Directors and CEOs who have been thinking about succession/transition and its impact on themselves and their organizations.
One of the key highlights of this workshop will be an opportunity to meet and interact with special guests including former Executive Directors, Founders and CEOs who have experienced different kinds of transition processes, recruiters who can help you identify where to go next in your career, and financial planners who can discuss the financial possibilities after the transition. There will be plenty of time to connect with these special guests and engage in meaningful group conversations.

As part of PLC’s continued work on Succession, this workshop was created as a response to findings from PLC’s Executive Directors’ Survey Report, “Leaders of Today: An Inside Look at the Executive Director Experience in Peel Region”. One of the key findings was that 60% of current Executive Directors plan to leave their current role in the next four years. They also indicated that they are concerned about their personal well being thereafter, as well as their organizations. Through this workshop, PLC is providing new learning opportunities to seasoned and experienced EDs/CEOs to help them navigate their leadership transition process within and outside their organizations.
We look forward to seeing you there!
