Are your evaluation surveys helping you make the right decisions?
Peel Region Evaluation Platform (PREP) is holding a two-part workshop on the use of surveys to measure impact. This workshop will be presented by Paul Bakker from Social Impact Squared. Paul is a Credentialed Evaluator who offers evaluation coaching to nonprofit, governmental and educational organizations.
Part B of this free workshop is best suited for staff or leaders at nonprofits in Peel Region who are interested in taking a deeper dive into the analysis of their survey data.
Surveys are one of the most common tools we use to evaluate our work. Surveying our stakeholders (including participants) to get their assessments of our impact is a great first step.
However, there are many reasons why stakeholder assessments may not be completely accurate.
This workshop will be delivered in two parts to improve our knowledge and skills in using surveys to obtain accurate estimates of our organizations’ impact.
Part B: Pre-Post Survey Analysis
Part B is for people who are using or considering using surveys to obtain before and after impact estimates. Those estimates can be obtained both before and after a program or just after a program is (partially) complete.
During this part, we will walk through how to properly analyze data that compares pre and post estimates using the Free Excel analysis tool, Real Statistics (http://www.real-statistics.com). Paul will provide a step-by-step guide for conducting the analysis and interpreting the results.
Note: a fictional data set will be used, but participants are welcome to pre-install Real Statistics on their laptops and follow along with their actual data. Instructions for pre-setting up the data will be sent ahead of time.
Attendance at Part A is optional (not a prerequisite).
There will be a lunch and networking session held immediately before this workshop from 12noon-1pm. We'd be happy to have you join us, but your attendance is optional. To ensure we order enough food, please indicate your interest in staying for lunch on the registration form.
